Happy Fourth of July!
This holiday is so much fun because I, for some reason, never seem to have high expectations (like I do for Christmas or Thanksgiving), but it always delivers a good time and a good thing to celebrate: freedom. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I think a day that celebrates freedom is also a good day to remember that there are 27 million slaves in the world, 10,000 in the U.S., that do not experience freedom today, only more of the same: slavery. I’m not saying to not celebrate Independence Day. No one should let the bad things in this world rob them of joy.
However, we could also do something to raise awareness about slavery and human trafficking. A great way to do this is to download and watch the Freedom: Indifference is not an Option documentary, created by Passion Conferences, and show it to only two other people. This is easy. And, it can change the world.
