This is the first in a series of posts about ways to change the world throughout the holiday season. It is also something I have written about every year since the inception of this blog. But, I will continue to write about it because
1. It is fun
2. It is about Jesus
3. It provides Christmas presents to children that may not get them otherwise
So, what is this post about? Operation Christmas Child! If you are not familiar with Operation Christmas Child, it is a program of Samaritan’s Purse. Basically, people all around the world fill up shoeboxes (usually the official shoebox-sized boxes provided by Samaritan’s Purse) with toys, nonperishable snacks, and hygiene items. Then, they bring them to one of the drop off locations, and the shoeboxes get sent to children around the world. And, the people that distribute the shoeboxes to the children tell them all about Jesus. It is a pretty great program. That is why it is this week’s suggestion of how you can change the world!
Also, it is fun! Pro tip: Take your shoebox into dollar tree, and fill that baby to the brim for about $10.
