The title of this post is a phrase that has become the theme of the recent movement to end excessive, unwarranted, and sometimes deadly use of force by law enforcement against people who are black. This week’s suggestion of how you can change the world is to join this movement however you feel led, whether it be participating in protests or simply standing up for the legitimacy of the cause in conversation. This cause is important because there is systemic discrimination of low income black families. It doesn’t begin or end with the police, and not all police participate. It is much bigger than that, and spans across a number of institutions. For example, schools that serve primarily low-incomeblack children are not as well resourced. This matters because justice matters, because people matter, because black lives matter. So, please support this movement and help to end systemic racism in your city.
