Giving Tuesday

Happy Tuesday!
This week’s post is a special non-weekend edition because of what today is… you guessed it: GIVING TUESDAY! Today, after the Thankfulness, consumerism, and online sales of the past five days, we celebrate giving.

As most of us probably had the chance to note of last Thursday, we live with abundance! It overflows. Everywhere you go and in our own lives. Not to say we don’t have struggles, we do. However, it is great that there is a day dedicated to turning our perspective outward and loving God and others through the act of financial gift.

According to Wikipedia, an oh-so-reliable source, “Giving Tuesday, often stylized as #GivingTuesday for purposes of hook activism, refers to the Tuesday after U.S. Thanksgiving in the United States. It is a movement to create an international day of giving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season. Giving Tuesday was started in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation as a response to commercialization and consumerism in the post-Thanksgiving season (Black Friday and Cyber Monday).”

So there you have it. This week’s suggestion of how you can change the world is to participate in this wonderful holiday!
